Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking with your photographer

What does your pricing cover?

There are no hidden fees when you book with me. My session pricing includes our time together, full editing and a digital gallery that can be downloaded unlimited times. For my wedding packages, a second photographer and engagement session are included.

What should I wear?

When choosing your outfits, I highly recommend not having everyone matching. Find coordinating colors and prints, and look for suggestions on websites like Pinterest.

how long does it all take?

My family, engagement and maternity sessions typically take between 45 minutes and an hour. I don’t like to rush, and I like the ability to walk around for different backgrounds. Senior shoots take a little longer because of outfit changes and headshot session.

When will I get the pictures back?

Because being a photographer is my only job (besides motherhood), I am able to get my galleries back pretty promptly. I aim for family and engagement sessions to take a week, seniors and Mitzvahs two weeks and weddings between three and four weeks.

How many pictures will i get?

This is a tough one to answer because so many factors go into it. For weddings, the larger your bridal party and families, the larger your gallery will be. The longer your event is, and whether you choose to have a second photographer also determines the size of your gallery. For family and senior sessions, it will depend on things like location, changes of outfits, adding in extra people, etc. But I promise I don’t restrain myself- what I take, you will get (but I will delete duplicates, things that are out of focus, people with eyes closed, etc.)

what happens if the weather is bad, or someone gets sick?

Living in the Northeast, we certainly see our fair share of iffy weather. I typically reach out a day or two before our session after looking at updated forecasts and extend an offer to move your date if your are uncomfortable with the elements. I will work with you to find another date that works for everyone in your party.

How do i book?

I try to make this as easy as possible. To book a wedding or a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, I ask that we have a brief phone call so I can answer any questions you might have, and go over your tentative timeline and plan for your big day. Once we chat, I take a 25% retainer and a signed contract to hold your date. For all other sessions, you can book via my website, through a phone call or text, or a direct email.

Do you charge for travel?

Within the Capital Region, I do not. But anything past 30 miles from my front door is $.70 a mile, and this is to merely cover the extra wear and tear and gas on my vehicle. For distance weddings, let’s chat and come up with the best solution for your budget.

How do you describe your style?

I consider myself a naturalist- I don’t like a lot of props or filters. There are a lot of trends right now and I don’t want my clients to someday regret their galleries because they look dated (remember 80’s hairstyles?) For events, I do an equal mix of posed shots and candids unless asked otherwise.
